Julia Kulp, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Julia Kulp received her Master’s of Science Degree in Social Work, with a concentration in Advanced Clinical Social Work Practice, from Columbia University in 2004. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Drew University in 2001.
Julia has experience providing individual and family therapy to adolescents and families in outpatient and inpatient psychiatric settings. While working on the Adolescent Psychiatric Unit, at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC, she also provided Dialectical Behavior Therapy training to psychology interns, medical school residents and fellows. Areas of interest include depression, anxiety, self esteem, self harm, and adolescent issues. She enjoys working with pre-teens, adolescents and families.
Through providing a safe and supportive environment, Julia assists clients in learning ways to manage stress and meet their goals. She uses a collaborative and strengths based approach while utilizing techniques of mindfulness, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and insight- oriented therapy. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She enjoys the arts, outdoors, reading and adventures.
